ski de fond , biathlon, VTT sur neige ,CO de nuit et raquettes à neige
C'est à Casterino,dans la vallée de la Roya, que se déroulera cette version hivernale du fameux Raid du Mercantour, par équipe de 2. Départ en masse à 11h pour une épreuve de ski de fond (7 km) puis biathlon, VTT sur neige (10 km environ) , course d'orientation en raquettes (dénivelée positif de 300 m). En soirée de 18h30 à 19h30 course d'orientation au score. A noter la possibilité de participer uniquement à cette C.O. de nuit. (équipe de 2). Tout à débuté par une boucle de 7 km de ski de fond (150m de déniv) où les écarts se sont fait naturellement entre les adeptes du skating et ceux de l'alternatif.Un premier tir (5 balles par équipier) avec de véritables carabines de biathlon, on fait un honorable 7/10 qui nous oblige à aller chercher une balise de pénalité, on enchaine avec 10km de VTT (200m de déniv) sur neige avec un nouveau tir de biathlon au milieu (à nouveau 7/10) et on sort 7ème avant de partir pour une raquette orientation (carte ign 1/25000) sans grosse difficulté (si ce n'est les 600m de déniv) dans un cadre magnifique.Là on laisse quelques plumes (et beaucoup d'énergie) on est alors 12ème.
Pour finir une course au score de 70 mn de nuit et en raquette: là il faut bien avouer que l'on est pas vraiment habitué à ce type de carte :ign 1/25000 agrandie à la photocopieuse au 1/12500ème avec des chemins d'été qu'on ne voit pas en hiver, des pistes de ski non cartographiées, des limites de végétations périmées, des bâtiments présents sur le terrain et inexistants sur la carte, des définitions de postes peu précises...bref des élements auxquels nous ne sommes pas habitués et qui nous ont coûté cher (5 postes trouvés seulement sur 15 possibles ce qui nous vaut tout de même une 7ème place sur cette épreuve).Il faut bien reconnaitre que c'est une question d'habitude et d'interprétation de carte car de nombreux raiders n'ont pas été perturbé du tout par ces détails et s'en sont beaucoup mieux tiré que nous.
En somme une trés belle journée, dans une ambiance extremement conviviale et sportive qui c'est finit autour d'un vin chaud dans une ambiance survoltée.
Bravo aux 2 frères Camus qui finissent brillants 2ème et qu'on a le plaisir de voir fréquemment sur nos organisations. A noter qu'il ont remis au tirage au sort le bon d'achat qu'ils avaient gagné sur le terrain...chapeau bas !!!
